Behind the
Curtain
Our mission is to turn theatre strangers into theatre experts without them even knowing. Wait in the Wings produces free-to-access documentaries on our 150K subscriber YouTube channel, live screenings & seminars, conferences, workshops, and community gatherings.
Our 501(C)3 partner, Friends of Wait in the Wings, furthers the educational mission of Wait in the Wings by supporting—through fundraising and volunteers—the production of media that shares the history of theater.
Friends of Wait in the Wings is led by a devoted board of directors & committees comprised of artists, philanthropists, advocates, and storytellers, all of whom share in a passion for developing diverse and equitable theatrical community and safeguarding theatre history.

Brendon Henderson
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Brendon Henderson is a filmmaker, writer, and historian with a deep love for storytelling. Fresh out of college in 2019, he founded the YouTube channel Wait in the Wings to shine a spotlight on underrated musicals and explore the fascinating stories behind them. A devoted admirer of Ernest Hemingway and Bret Easton Ellis, Brendon draws a huge amount of inspiration from their distinctive narrative styles. He is also influenced by Malcolm Gladwell's talent for making mundane subjects compelling, a skill he strives to emulate in his own work. When he's not working on documentaries, Brendon enjoys bowling, gokarts, and browsing the journal section of Barnes & Noble.

Julianna W. Henderson
BOARD CHAIRPERSON
Julianna W. Henderson is a museum nerd, picky editor, and lover of every dog she sees in public. She holds a Master's in Museum Studies & Cultural Heritage Management from the University of Pennsylvania and a desire for preserving history in all its forms, especially in her roles as Board Chair and script editor for Wait in the Wings. Julianna especially loves preserving women’s stories, from learning Italian to study Violante Vanni—who etched birds in 1700s Florence—to finding graphic novelist Alison Bechdel’s childhood home on a vacation rental site to document the original wallpaper. She is driven by a love for the details that bring history to life.

Delaney Heil
SECRETARY • Delaney Heil is so excited to make her debut as a board member of the Wait in the Wings non-profit! As a self-proclaimed "adopted" theatre kid (a band kid who did shows in high school...that counts, right?), she lives out Wait in the Wings’ mission by striving to connect not only with theatre lovers, but with people on the fringes of the theatre world who haven't had a chance to find belonging within its walls. As the board secretary, she never lets a detail slip or a word get by her, and she always aims to be as detailed as possible to keep the board on track.
-
Jadin Stoffel

In addition to her work with The Institutes and Wait In The Wings, she is closely involved with the Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA).
